« 100 Weeks ‘Til COS | Main | Makings of a To’y – Part 1 »

The women are the best. With my training host family, the mother was an absolute saint who worked her ass off, still had a job, and was one of the most genuinely kind and happy people I've ever met. She really watched out for me too and kept the kids out of my hair when I needed space. I liked my host father too and he was a pretty good guy on the Uzbek spectrum. He was gone a lot (at cotton) and everything was so much calmer without him. Ilgiza still worked all the time, but you could tell there wasn't any pressure to have things done by a certain time.

As a balance, I did have an absolutely atrocious host mother who was married to a great guy (and then I had a couple that had an equal capacity for kindness and evil).
