We live in a skeptical world, suspicious, cynical, and judgmental. Our very existence requires validation by passports, driver’s licenses, I.D. badges, fingerprints, passwords, voice recognition and so on. And it’s all so well documented in mounds of paperwork from birth certificates, to tax records, to credit reports, to résumés and health records. So if you are wondering whether the people who’s blogs you’re reading are authentic or not, you may want to request any of the above items from them.
I’ve been debating for some time if I should post candid photos of myself or not, rather than relying on the obscured one mainly framing a dog, albeit a cute dog. There is some value in the relative anonymity, which can serve as a shield against prejudice and preconceptions. However, skepticism lingers about my really summitting mountains, all of my travels and various experiences.
Perhaps I’m just using this as an excuse for vanity. Nonetheless, I’ve included pictures of myself in About Me. It may be more than you want, but here I am…
Great photos Dee!

I love the picture of you in front of the sign post. I battle with whether to maintain a certain persona/nickname as a buffer on my blog or just use my name. I have done the name thing so far, but it makes me nervous. Not only are all those bits of ID required anymore, they are easy to get if you want it badly enough. Identity theft is a concern these days.
That said, I am really fascinated with your Peace Corp experience. I am always thinking about doing such things and haven't left the safety of home yet. Brava to you for making that journey of a lifetime, and thanks for sharing it with us!
