Letters from the U.S. take about 10 days Packages by air mail takes 2-4 weeks, and if you're sending packages, its always a good idea to identify the contents as "Teaching Materials". Don't list any valuables, and send anything that comes in pairs (i.e., shoes) in two separate boxes to deter MIA status through customs.

An important letter was send from Singapore a week before via snail mail to Bhubaneswar, india. But it has not reached to the adress after waiting for more then a week.

Dee, I'll send you the kinds of things you don't even now realize you'll want. Artificial ingredients are so tasty when you've been deprived of them...

My experience was always that mail took a lot less time than PC leads you to believe. From most major cities, stuff'll get to 4 Turkestanskaya in no more than 2 weeks most of the time. NYC to Tashkent? 7 Days, honest. Another volunteer got packages from Philly in 10 days to Navoi.
